东亚研究中心以东亚地区的重要国家日本、韩国及其对华关系，以及东亚地区合作进程中的相关问题为研究对象。同时，以当前东亚地区发展所面临的紧迫问题，如海洋问题、能源问题、危机管理问题为本中心的研究重点。本中心将祖国统一与两岸关系的研究亦视为一个重要工作领域。

东亚研究中心注重学术创新，推动对外合作与交往，吸收海内外优秀人才参与合作研究与课程开发；同时努力把学术研究与政府、企业咨询相结合。本中心人员多年来在这一领域的工作受到广泛好评。

本中心自2003年来创设“中日友好奖学基金”，每年向上海几所重点大学的40余位优秀研究生提供奖学金，旨在推动合作和提升教学与科研水平。本中心的建立受到NEC等方面的支持与赞助。

东京大学、早稻田大学博士，日本亚洲论坛高级研究员，日本通产省贸易振兴会顾问陈洁华教授担任本中心主任。

East-Asia Studies Center

The East-Asia Studies Center is dedicated to studies of the important East-Asian nations including Japan and Korea, and their relations with China, as well as the relevant issues in the process of regional cooperation in East Asia. Research focuses lie in pressing issues confronting the East-Asian region such as ocean problems, energy problems and crisis management problems. The Center also takes the re-unification of China and cross-Taiwan Straits relations as it crucial research areas.

The East-Asia Studies Center pays special attention to academic innovation, and promotion of international cooperation and exchanges, introducing domestic and overseas talents into its cooperative research and course development. The Center also combines academic research with the government and corporate consultation. For a along time, our works in the above-mentioned areas have been widely acclaimed.

The “China-Japan Friendship Scholarship Foundation” was established by the Center in 2003, offering scholarship annually to more than 40 postgraduate students of excellence from several key universities in Shanghai with an aim to promote cooperation and upgrade the teaching and research levels. The Foundation offers scholarship to more than The Center was founded with the support and sponsorship of NEC.

Professor Chen Jiehua (PhD. University of Tokyo and Waseda University), Adviser in JETRO the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan , and senior researcher in Asia Forum Japan, is the Director of the Center.
