欧洲研究中心成立于1997年，是中国——欧盟高等教育合作项目、以及欧盟支持的“欧洲研究在中国”大型项目关于欧洲问题研究的核心机构之一。其前身是华东师大亚欧研究中心。

本中心是一个以欧洲政治、经济、历史、文化、外交等多学科交叉研究为方向的学术基地。在中国外交部、教育部与欧盟的支持下，多年来，欧洲研究中心致力于关于欧洲问题的研究、教学、咨询与出版工作，本中心的研究工作侧重于以欧洲为背景的大国关系研究、欧洲一体化进程中的社会转型研究与欧洲思想文化研究。

欧洲研究中心注重于推动国际国内的学术交流与合作，经常性地举行各种形式的学术研讨会，邀请欧洲及其它地区与国家的学者来中心作长期和中短期的访问研究与讲学。同时也不断派出人员赴欧洲从事研究。本中心与欧洲和其它地区众多权威学术机构与大学建立了广泛的学术联系。

本中心接受学校委托，负责华东师大与法国巴黎高师集团联合培养博士研究生项目（文科）。本中心拥有学术出版物《亚欧通讯》。

European Studies Center

Founded in 1997, the European Studies Center is a high-level China-Europe collaborative education project. It is also one of the key European studies institutions participating in a large “European Studies in China” project supported by the European Union. The European Studies Center was originally known as the Asian-European Studies Center of East China Normal University.

The Center is an academic base focusing on multi-disciplinary research on European politics, economics, history, culture, and foreign affairs. With the support of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education and the European Union, the European Studies Center is over many years dedicated to European studies, teaching, consulting and publication. Research works emphasizes on big powers relations in the European context, social transformation in the unification process of Europe and European cultural studies.

The Center strives to promote the international and national academic exchanges and cooperation, with frequent academic conference and symposiums, and visits and lecturing of various lengths by scholars from Europe and other regions or nations. Meanwhile, the Center also regularly sends personnel to conduct research in Europe. As a result, extensive academic contacts have been established between the Center and numerous authoritative institutions in Europe and other regions.

Entrusted by East China Normal University, the Center is in charge of the Doctorate Training Project (Humanities) jointly developed by ECNU and the Ecole Normale Group of Paris, France. The Center publishes an Asia-European Studies Bulletin.
